Wilderness Insights is a brand of Replicade Limited.

As part of Civtech Scotland 2.0, Historic Environment Scotland posed a challenge "How can we better track visitors to our remote sites" and as their finalist, we used our firmware and hardware expertise to build a new Internet of Things visitor counter that could send back real-time visitor counts from their remote sites. 

This product is now called Wilderness Footfall.

In 2021, we rebranded from Wilderness Sensors to Wilderness Insights, to better reflect what our company is all about; we are passionate about providing meaningful insights that help improve tourism locations for everyone.

We are well known for providing excellent visitor counters and internet of things devices that work off grid and provide real time data, but the driver behind that has always been the insights from the data. Our sensors are one part of the whole picture, the data they provide is invaluable and it is how it is combined that brings unique understanding and Insight to a location.

We are continuing to work closely with Historic Environment Scotland, and now with other agencies who need to detect visitors or environmental data from remote locations. We also have many new exciting Wilderness Insights products in the pipeline!
